454 main caps dont fit

So I was doing a "pre assembly" and noticed the main caps are too wide to fit in thier registure... Just a hair! Is that normal? I thought it was suppose to slide right in to its slot... This one ALMOST does but not quite..

There supposed to have slight interference fit, thats what keeps them from walking and moving around.

Line em up, put bolts finger tight in em, and lightly swat em with a brass hammer. They will fit perfectly.

Yep, they're supposed to be tight, if any of them just fell into place without tapping them down or pulling them down with the bolts then they are not tight enough and could lead to cap walk problems in use.
