got a 454, the numbers behind the driver head on the flange above the bell housing are 3963512. that 1969-1971 i know. now my question is how do i find what the numbers on the deck directly in front of the passenger head mean. the factory ingraved numbers not casted bold numbers - CF174223. if there is a website i can find those on please let me know or where i might find the suffix code on that block. i removed the timing chain cover and found the block says PASS HI PERF on it with a number 9 underneath. if thats a good thing id also like to know how good. while im waiting for a reply im going to get this thing out of the corner of my garage and on a stand...maybe cook a burger. ok thanks

Hey boatachors.....thats a really BAD engine to start with!! Not really worth the effort. My suggestion is to send me a PM and i'll arrange for a trucking company to come pick it up and i'll dispose of it for you. LOL
