454 peanut heads

Hi guys,

Newb here, with a question. I've got a 454 truck engine in my 4x4, looking for some serious grunt power. Just bought a Weiand 177 blower and can't wait to get it on. My question is what would be a good cam for low - mid power. i doubt it ever going to see 5000 rpm. Going to run 38 inch tires with 410 gears so I can cruise highway at 2000 rpm. Engine is all stock exept for try-Y headers, No smog, If I keep boost low, like maybe 4-5 pounds it should bring my compression up just enough to still run pump gas, and ramp up the fun factor. Is it possible to put a cam in that would give me that, and have some rumble?

blower 454

Go to the comp cams site, I see in a comp cams book I have they have a blower and turbo cam section. If you are going to stick with the peanut heads at least do a little porting an intake port matching to help it all work together better. Sounds cool ,I run a 460 full size Bronco with 38.5 Boggers on the street, fun. Good luck with the blowre, I am thinking of simular on my truck. Let us know how yours works out.
