That's not a bad price for the work you had done. The first time I had my 454 rebuilt back in 1998 I had crank polished, rods reconditioned, new pistons, new mech roller cam and lifters, crane valve springs with retainers and locks, valve job on 781 oval port heads (had to replace a couple of exhaust valves), Crane roller rockers, Cloyes timing gear and chain set, Pioneer Harmonic balancer and Pioneer flexplate, Engine was balanced. I had the machine shop assemble the short block. I spent around $4000 on that trip.
