455 cam upgrade

i have a 73 riviera with an all stock 455 buick in it, now this is somthing i know nothing about but what would be the biggest cam id be able to put in without changing anything besides the lifters and pushrods, cuz they have to be replaced anyways. i love the sound of a loppy idle, but dont have money to by new heads and stuff like that. so basically im lookin for the loppyest cam i could get away with , without replaceing alot of engine parts. any idea's?

A comp cams Thumpr cam will give you the desired sound.
Works with a near stock valve train. Best with new hi perf valve springs and the stock valve springs are only intended for stock cams and low rpm.

A distributor advance recurve is nessessary.

the larger ones need a high stall converter.

best with a high stall and higher rear gears and higher than stock compression ratio.

call comp cams for tech advice.

comp cams 96-600-5 look it up yourself

You fuel mileage will not be great. Not a great plan if you got no money
and actually have to drive this car.
