Post 455ci Buick

My buddy was just given a '72-'76 455 with 50k on it (casting #1241735)...it still has oil in it and I cranked it over by hand. I don't know much about these motors (being a chevy guy), but do know that the '70-'71 versions made a ton of torque (500 ft/lb+). Anyway, is it worth holding onto and building up someday, or should he sell it, and what would be a good selling price....

All of the old big blocks are getting quite valuable, particularly if they are complete. Just go to a local salvage yard and have them put one of these puppies on a locator, you'll be shocked what people are asking for them. If it was mine, I would get top dollar out of it, or it would sit in the corner until I got the itch to tinker with it.
