It's true that, from the factory, a carrier for a 4.56 and a 3.73 were the same, but there are gearsets available for the higher geared carriers, too.
They make the ring gear thicker to locate it in the right place when used on a carrier for higher gear ratios. I would suggest that you verify which carrier you have before you order the new ring & pinion. You might be in for a surprize, otherwise.
