46 Ford door hinge problem

Hi Guys
Have just replaced a worn door hinge on my 46, But now the top of the door sits out too far and I can't close the door. Is there any way to adjust them, Thought maybe shims under bolt at front but this didn't seem to work. Help please

re: 46 Ford door hinge problem

how does the rest of the door fit? could you shim out the BOTTOM hinge to pull in the top?

or, it may seem archaic, but in my old Dodge manual they actually tell you to block the bottom of the door and push on the top! might work.

good luck,

JB

Re: Dodge manual

Thanks for the reply, That makes sense just worried about breaking something, Can't adjust bottom any further, Top at front needs about 1/8 inch but back out nearly 1/2 inch so not sure about it

Thanks it worked!

Thanks Johnnymopar Decided I had to take the chance and the Dodge manual was right (I suppose archaic methods on archiac equipment!)
