460 big block

can you take the crank out of a 460 big block or any at that without taking the pistons and the rest of the top of the motor apart??

Yes but it's not adviseable it can really be a "PITA" if you have not been done that road before. Other words it's not a easy chore, Is the engine still in the vehicle or what exactly is the reason you are wanting to do it this way ? needing a new bottomn end ?
I would suggest you getting a good book/manual on the subject before jumping in and m some help if you can find some.IMHO

I would pull the engine.for crank being removed. I think metal would be all up in. That engine.
It can be done on. But will need extra hands. And help you going to sell it after that

the engine runs good but has a slight knock cause the idiots before never bothered to change the oil. it doesnt burn oil or anything just has that slight knock and just didnt feel like doing a full rebuild yet because i think the motor has life in it yet.
