Well I have an appointment with the dyno for Monday AM,and I'm pretty much ready. All the holes not being used are plugged, and I primed the oil system today. That took quite a while, and I turned the motor over while I was doing it,I sure had my buddy's good drill smokin' LOL

Today I got my engine off of the stand and on to a cradle, now its on the end of a cherry picker just waiting for my buddy to get it on the back of his p/u.I have a set of different size jets, some different springs and bushings for my MSD Pro Billet distributor, and an empty memory card and fresh batteries for my camera !! I guess that it wont be much longer until I see if my goal of 600 + hp is reality or not !!

Got my big block dynoed this AM,after break in and setting the valve lash we got 6 pulls, the lowest was with an no air filter and no spacer. The best was with an air filter and a spacer.550 HP @ 6500 RPM & 527 ft.lbs. of torque @ 3900 RPM.The torque curve was nice and flat,515-525 @ 3500 RPM-440-445 @ 6500 RPM.From a dyno sim program a friend of mine had done I was hoping for bigger #'s,guess theres no substitute for the real thing.

I still dont have the engine in my car yet,but I have been busy, and I now have all of the necessary peices.Got my new 80 GPH fuel pump and custom bent Stainless line on,and I made a shim to go in between the water pump & the pulley so it is lined up with the alternator, hopefully this will cure it from throwing belts off.I also put new bushings & spring clips on my shifter, the bushings are made from a harder material this time, and I tweaked the 5th-reverse rod a bit.I trial fitted my new Hooker headers, and I'm glad that I did this while the engine is on the stand rather than in the car, because it turns out that the flanges were hitting the lower head bolts.I also got my remote oil filter adapter back on,complete with the new braided SS lines I had made up.I had to switch 2 plug wires around to have adequate clerarance between the headers. The air filter looks a bit funny, but this intake is higher than my old one,and I want to keep my stock flat hood,at least for now.I also had to cut the corner off of 1 motor mount to clear the headers.

Guy, did you correct the dyno numbers to sea level? Seems like that might get you closer to the 600 number.
