Post 47 ford rear end

A friend of mine said his dad has a rear end from a 47 ford he just had restored. I am building a budget t-bucket and I wondered if this would be of any help. I was just going to buy an old S-10 rear end at a salvage yard but he said he would give me the rear end and the front end (he replaced his with a mustang 2) for $150. What do you guys think and do you know anything about these particular rear ends, size, pros-cons anything would be helpful

Thanks,
Cory

pass on the rear end, they are closed driveshaft and the first thing replaced on an old ford when rodded for a good reason, they were designed for 90 hp. but the front axle parts are good for street rod use, the spindles are used on just about all aftermarket axles and get premium prices.
