48 chevy truck cab sitting on part of its original chassis but the rear ends number go for an 1983 i dont know what the front end was cut and had a newer suspension brakes chassis welded on but i bought it from a guy who has no clue what its from but the motor mounts r welded on there and it has this strange like shock absorber to help it turn or something any help wud be awsome i dont know how to post pics yet
I don't have the bearing caps so how do I know what size to ask for. Since there isn't any threads on the yoke I'll assume it's gonna use u straps what size shud they be or how do I measure it
Put the straps on it, without the ujoint in it, and put it to where the strap and where the bearing goes make a circle. Then measure that circle, then measure from the little 'tab' on the yoke where the bearing would go (it would be on the very outer edge) from side to side and thats your width.

I replaced the ujoint but one of the snap rings doesnt fit I guess the u joint is to big but it's so close to fitting on the driveshaft . the pinion yoke worked perfectly with the ubolt so what do I do now?

Are you sure it didnt happen again? Did you happen to break one of the needle Brgs the first time it happened? If a needle brg broke there could be a small piece of the brg hanging things up.
or could be a needle bearing in the opposite cap that was overlooked. If its really close fit, that would be the first thing i check, those bearings can be a biotch.
