48 Ford P/u

Hey
I am in the Military here in Oregon getting ready to retire in a few months. To help with retirement I purchased a very nice 48 Ford Flatbed P/U. I am struggling with the idea of HOTRODDING or staying stock. Currently its a flthd 6 with topbox 4 spd. I have a 4 bolt 350 Chev to rebuild with TH350. What would you suggest? Right now I need info on what trans(4spd) I can use to replace the topbox non-synchro 4spd in the truck now? Anybody got ant ideas?
Thanks For THe Help

If the current drivetrain is running...leave it alone. The old fords with the original drivetrains are getting rare.

At the 2006 F-100 supernationals there were 4 flatheads and 4 Y-blocks out of about 1600 trucks.

I too wanted a hotrod (all ford though), but ended up with a good running stock one. No way will I chop it up after driving it for a while.

I get way too much attention for being different. People walk past high dollar customs to look at the engine in my old beat up truck.
