i'm planning a similar project. i'm putting a 52 dodge pickup on an s-10 frame. only i'm going to leave the v-6, 5 speed ,all the wiring, pedals, floor, etc of the s-10. so i'm really just going to take the s-10 skin off the cab and replace it with the skin of the 52. then swap the bed and front clip. as far as putting the v-8 into your chassis, several kits are available. as are headers. i'm going to use the firewall and floor section of the s-10 so all the pedals and steering are already in place. cutting the bed down is straight forward. mounting the front clip should be pretty simple too. i'm presently building 4 s-10 based hot rods. if you need detailed pics of have detailed questions let me know.

Don't use extra cab S10

WOW Thanks for all the help, I found some bad news for me, I used the extra cab short box off the S10, I need to shave off 5 inches in the middle, the wheel base is too long, (bummer) it can and will be done, just one more thing to do. word to the wise, for this project stick with the regular cab long box S10.
