am starting late model transformation on my 48 plymouth special deluxe coupe. i was told to sub-frame my car in the beginning. the person who is going to install the chevy small block, automatic, and rear end advises that i should leave the front suspension as is, but change the front brakes to disc. i found a conversion kit in a ply-do catalog but i thought that it may be a little pricey since i still will have to purchase the rotors and calipers. also, they call for mopar rotors. i would like to put chevy rotors on. any suggestions?

I have a suggestion that you might notwant to hear, but here goes, if you intend to drive the car as a driver, Get Rid of that almost 30 year old front suspension, to keep it your asking to be stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere with nothing! Wit the new stuff, at least if something were to break, you could buy replacement parts. Call Fat Man, get a stub with X member and Mustang II hub to hub or sub frame it and put new suspension. Ride is everything. Save for it and have High tech peace of mind.

got a friend who just finished a 48 Ply business coupe, made a super fine car out of it. He used the FatMan front stub(stage II) and it worked out as close to perfect as anything you could wish for. It's powered by an '89 Vette TPI engine with ALL of the Street&Performance upgrades. Looks super nice thoughout. Black exterior with beige/tan leather/ultrasuede interior. He welded in the rear fenders, built a roll pan for the front and rear, removed all the chrome and stainless except three grille bars, and smoothed everything off. I can give you an email address if you are interested in his car for ideas or just to see how nice it was...PACO
