"49 chevy won't start
Hi,
I've got a '49 chevy fleetline that won't start. At first it would turn over, but not start up. First I replaced the fuel pump because gas was not geting to the carb...didn't help. Next I replaced the coil...still nothing. New rotor and condensor came next..still nothing. Finally I replaced the starter. My husband hooked it up and got a huge spark. He immediately took it off and we found out that the guy mistakenly gave us a 12volt instead of a 6 volt starter. Went and got the 6v and hooked it up. Now it won't even turn over. The solenoid is still from the original starter, but I'm guessing that that is not the problem since it was turning over before. I'm not sure what to replace next. Pretty much all of the wires ned to be replaced soon, but it is way too expensive to do right now. Any help would be appreciated.
