49' F1 brakes on 39 Ford spindles
What is required to fit 1949 Ford F1 brakes to my 1939 Ford spindles? I was told to elongate the holes on the backing plates to make the bolt holes line up, however this is not what I have read on previous forums.
Other rodders have mentioned that this is a straight fit and a bolt on job. This did not seem to be the case last weekend when I tried to bolt the backing plates up. ford91a |
How about posting pics of your spindles and backing plates. Maybe you don't have what you think you have.

There may be some differences between f1 and the later f100 brakes, the f100 brakes are a common swap.Check this article out,
