"49" Ford Business Coupe Custom Transmission Swap standard to late model Automatic
HI Everyone,
Looking for Information on 1949 Custom Business Coupe...Transmission need to know what late model Automatic transmission will bolt up to a Flathead Motor.(custom built,stroked,325hp) currently had 86 mustang 4 speed, had to file the shaft Dont want to go through that again. Rockin Rick

I'm at work now but have info at home from a company Flat-o-matic I believe also in Oregon. Was going to put an auto in my 1953 coupe for the wife but I toasted the engine first. They had a set-up to ran a C-4 and sold kits from Complete trans included all the way down to just the adapters. I'll re-post with better info if this doesn't bring up a web site.

Hey RR, Tell us about that motor. 325hp from a flathead??? Are you running a blower??

Quick update as i'm home and have info in hand. The name is Flat-o-Products as Zonk stated. The kit is called Flat-O-Matic. The info is a bit old but the Tel# is: (503) 364-6194. I've only got the info sheets as I went late model drive train , so I really don't know any more about them. Good Luck.
