Anyone running or built one of these? Care to share your choice of components?

A friend wants be to build one for his TH400,3.42,chevelle,street use, pump gas friendly.

Should i go with stock length rods or the longer 6.385 rods?

Brodix 270 race rites fill the bill?

Having a hard time coming up with pistons for around 9.5:1 CR with either 110 or 119cc chamber heads.

Thinking around 236-242 intake duration at .050 hydraulic flat tappet.

Thoughts?

I have built one with the Brodix head. I think that is the only oval port aluminum head out there. SRP should have a piston in the 10.2:1 range which should work with a 230@.050 cam on pump gas. I believe that engine made about 600hp and 650ftlbs. I have also built a couple with stock 781 heads with only minor porting that werent dynoed but ran very well.

I just did a 454 with the ProComp heads that made 500hp and 560ftlbs on pump gas, also with a hyd roller. The ProComps did have a piston interference issue, but it was minor.

The Eagle crank and rods worked well for me.
