I have built one with the Brodix head. I think that is the only oval port aluminum head out there. SRP should have a piston in the 10.2:1 range which should work with a 230@.050 cam on pump gas. I believe that engine made about 600hp and 650ftlbs. I have also built a couple with stock 781 heads with only minor porting that werent dynoed but ran very well.
I just did a 454 with the ProComp heads that made 500hp and 560ftlbs on pump gas, also with a hyd roller. The ProComps did have a piston interference issue, but it was minor. The Eagle crank and rods worked well for me. |
