496 build

Hello, I'm almost there my 496 is almost done awaiting for the bottom end from the machine shop. Here is what I have so far in need of input on exhaust I might have to change I was running 2 1/2 in flow with my 400sbc now 496 stroker. Eagle rotating assembly 10.5:1 781 heads 2.19/1.88 valves bowl ported. Running a comp cam ce 284 with a 2800 stall th400 headers 1 3/4 collect at 3inch. Can I still use my exhaust I just put this on about 8 mo. Ago. Or 3in on a offset 2 1/2 exit or 3 inch straight through. Also what is a good street carb to run. Looking for about 500-550hp. Let me know what you all think any suggestion will be followed to the T. Lol your guys advice I steered away from the thumper line of cans. From you recommendation.

3" straight through, dual plane intake. AS for the carb. Multiply the displacement by the redline rpm's, then divide by 2, then by 1728. At 5500 rpm, you should be pumping 790 CFM. I'd start with an 850 cfm carb, holley is my favorite brand as you can change out jets easily. If the 850 doesn't give the power you need with any combo of jets, the go larger.

a 2.5" exhaust with a set of good flowing mufflers will do just fine up to around 500-550hp, it will acutally help a little with making a little more tq and bring the RPM band down just a little which will make the car more fun to drive on the street.

now if it were me and i was starting from scratch i would use a 3" and a dynomax ultra flo's or super turbos. i dont care for flowmasters and they dont have the free flow that many think they do.
