4l60-e Hard Shifts at Low end

Hello everyone, this is my first post and glad to join.

I am experiencing (not always) noisy shifts at low end. My truck is new 2008 and dealer say normal?!.

The sound is felt under my feet, when I slow down and take off, specially noticeable when driving upward (climbing)...

any thoughts? thanks

Certainly not normal, but GM will do anything to get out of paying anything on warranty repairs right now.

When this happens... like for instance in a parking lot... does it feel like you got rear-ended by a Yugo when it shifts? but only every once in a while?

4L60Es had issues with the valves galling and sticking allowing full line pressure to apply the clutches during low-rpm shifts.

Make them fix it

its not "gn", its the dealer. the dealer get paid by gm to do warranty. the dealer decides whether there is a problem or not, then gm decides if they will get paid. tell me its not a "lithia" dealer you are dealing with. if so, thats your problem. tech head space...

thanks for the reply..This is avalanche 2008 4wd,,,it happens once in a while and when it is not fully warmed up...and I feel it under my feet. I think GM is now very alert when it comes to warranty!, dealers have to make strong case. This is ok!

I am curios, this tranny model is available for many years, how come it is not fixed?

Also, it performs badly when temperature outside is very hot...

As for the dealer, they say there is a TSB on this and it is called reverse torque part of torque management, and GM says this is expected at certain speeds and it is normal.
