I picked up another pump for my rebuild and noticed there was another port in pump cover. From the information I could find this is a 3-4 exhaust port. The new pump has it but the old pump does not (shown in the attached pictures). Both covers are casting 570 and the bodies are 732. Should this hole be plugged since the old pump did not have it?
What is its function other than the obvious.
