4l60 trans problem
 

i have a 91 caprice classic 5.0 305 and the torque converter went out i dont want to say blow up but the inside came apart now i was told when they do that it puts metal shavings in your trans and embeds in your clutchs. i tried to shack out the stuf in the converter and nothing came out what im getting at is do i have to rebuild or should i just take the pan off and check for shavings befor i get parts.

yea when the converter goes it take out the tranny the metal gets into the clutches valve body and governer causing shifting issuses or no upshifts

ya that sucks looks like im going to get 1st hand exp with rebuilding trans i will never pay 700 to have one rebuilt

i guess its like everything else slow clean take apart replace put back together

Or get lazy like me and buy a used one from the re-cycle yard, toss a kit in it, and go. :D Gives me more time to cook and eat ribs! :mwink:
