4l60e 3-4 clutch pack keeps burning up

I have a 98 z28 it only runs high 12's but i have had my transmission rebuilt twice the last six months and it just went out agian.

what has been done to it has the ecm been altered

just small cam, ported and polished heads, shift kit and a tune.

check line psi what type of shift kit did u rebuild it or was it done at a trans shop

It's a b&m electronic shift kit and ive taken it to a shop both times

im gonna just end up rebuilding it on my own any tips or suggestions? and would thier be any problem wt puting just a 2800 stall in it, it is a daily driver?

first do have the tools to remove the pistons in the clutch drums and case and to install sealing rings
check ine psi before tear down
focus first on 3 -4 air check the drum thrugh the pump and threw the feed hole on the input shaft look fore wear in the pump stator next look at the valve body iff the tcc regulator vavle is worn badly it needs reamed and a overs ized valve installed tool and valve are from sonnax look at the seperator plate should be replaced with a transgo plate check that stuff first

on the line pressure the p,n,and d were all 70 and then my r was 97 is that about right

at what rpm should be over 100psi at 1200-1800 rev should go up higher
un plug the tranny connector check max psi at rev and foward gears

all of those it was just idleing 950 or so at 1300 all the forward gears are 125 and revers is at 160

thats about right could be a little higher had u decided if your going to attemt to fix it next step is to pull it out and get it apart

yea i pulled it out to day its a pain on the ground no room on that car ha im use to haven a lift. but ya ima tear it down my next day off ill let you know how it goes or if i have any questions. but ive heard if i put a stall in it that it could burn up my over drive on the highway like if its a 2800 stall and im goin 65 and my rpms are only at like 25 or 2600 is that true?

high stall converters create more heat wich is bad id stall around 2200 circle d makes good converters anda great company rember pull the pan remove the lock up soleniod and youll need a torx plus 50 mm to remove the bellhousing
