4l60e

My son and I rebuilt his 4L60E trans from a 94 Silverado. It dosn't appear to be going into 4th. We replaced the torque converter as well. We were very cautious about getting it cleaned out. On reassemble we didn't have or use input shaft seal tool. However are reasonably sure they are ok. We also replaced all solenoids on the valve body. Is it possible we acquired wrong torque converter? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Being new to the site, you need to be sure to read the "Read Me' posts at the beginning of each forum. The ones here for example recommend that you just post a general introduction here and post tech questions in the appropriate tech forum. This will give you the best chance for a good answer.

Cool

Are you sure 4th gear is not functioning?

Mayb the converter is not locking up the clutch inside the converter?

The converter has nothing to do with 4th gear function.

Does 3rd gear seem to hold power well?

Is it possible the servo piston for OD is installed backwards?
