4l60e to 700r4

whats up guys hopefully some one can help i have a 1993 chevy 1500 it has a bad 4l60e i want to replace it with a 700r4 that i have is this possible even though the 4l60e is an electronic tranny

1993 4l60e trans question

my 1993 chevy 1500 has a 4l60e can it be replaced with a 4l60e from a different year or even a different car or does it need to be specifically for a1993 chevy 1500 thanks for the help

you need a 1993 or 1994 trans to bolt in for the electronics.

in 1995 GM changed the converter lock up strategy to PWM ... there is an additional solenoid and wire and different programing

the computer looks for feed back from the 4L60E trans.... this will set trouble codes & the check engine light turns 'on"

4l60e???

thanks for the info helped me alot. i found a 4l60e trans in a buik roadmaster 1994. i think that it would work. if i was to go the easy way out and try a th 350 would the computer make the truck run weird or would i just get a check engine light and the truck would run normal thanks for the help and quick responses guys

4l60e swap

thanks 4 the help will the check engine light be my only trouble. will the engine fuction normal even though the 4l60e is not noticed by the computer. thanks 4 the help

It puts the system into a limp mode. It is not advisable to drive the vehicle continuously in limp mode.
