4L60E Converter Selection

Hello all,

I have a 5.7 350 vortec .30 over daily driver+occasional tow(less than 5 times a year)
with comp cams 08-300-8 (grind cs 262h-r12)
duration at .050 206(intake) and 210(exhaust)

I rebuilt the trans and just beefed it up a little.

I estimate I will be pushing between 325 hp and 350 hp.

I called summit racing tech department to get a converter and guy says to just use the old one. I thought they always needed to be replaced with a trans rebuild as well as engine mods?

Any suggestions on this? There were no issues with the trans before rebuild.. just did it with the engine build all at one time.

With that Cam a Stock to mild stall increase would be fine. I wouldn't go too high with Towing in mind.
You should have the TC flushed/cleaned before reuse. If it was a low mile unit reuse, if not replace it, they're cheap. The TCC/TorqueConverterClutch may be worn.

It had 272,000 on it so I think I will just replace it. I certainly don't want to remove the trans just for the tc.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts.
