4L60e installation, where does the extra vent hose hose go ?

When removing the tranny the vent hose assembly just fell down.

Just put everything together a couldn't work out where the extra vent hose went, so just left it hanging (a).
I figured that 6 goes to the tranny, 5 to the t/case.

But what up with a, its long, nearly hits the fuel tank.

Is that going to be a problem?

with that setup there, its a matter of routing. there should be round retainers that hold the hose along a certain path. its easier to show you how it goes than to try and explain on here.
if you follow the basic path along the pic you showed you should see those retainers.
some of these trucks came with 2 vents, one for the trans and one for the t-case.

Thanks for the reply.

My mistake I found the right picture. I think is goes something like this.

The first hose (1, 4,7) is for the tranny alone. the small fork carries the vent for the tranny(7), the second is free(4).

The second hose (5) is for the T/case.
