4l60e story . Two years I went to cottonmans tran shop phoenix.I needed trans rebuilt on my service van. I told ther to used the best parts they could get They said for 2100.00 they would get it done. I was very happy with the job that they did. Two years and 1 month later I pulled out of the driveway and I thought the whole tranny had blown out in the street. I took it back to the shop which was right around the corner to have them take a look at it and they told me it needed another over-haul for another 2100 Dollars. I thought "Rip-Off I told them the parts in boxes had the van with parts towed home. I inspected tranny parts when I got them home and found out the problem was the sunshell had broke. They did not put the best parts in this tranny like I asked but charged me for them anyway. And that brings me here.
I went out to my local tranny part supplier and picked up a bsunshell gaskets, new converter, sunshell gear, wider bushing for sunshell gear, and new corvet survo and band. Re-assembled transmission, took out for road test. Transmission functioned like a stockhorn so I went back to part supplier, got a transco h2 kit, and installed it. Trying to get the shift points back to where they were before this started. This had a 1 2 shift that under heavier than stock loads would bark the tires. A 2 3 shift that I could actually fill. After installing shift kit it made no difference. Grocery getter. Cannot figure out what's wrong. Put pressure tester gauge on it and accoring to specs book at idle went 60-70 PSI. Which is normal. The other thing is in 4th gear I had this whine. Oil pressure loss?
If anyone has any insight of whats wrong or wants to help I'd appreciate the help.
