4l60E screen filter...Where does it go?
3 Attachment(s)
So it seems I have a different style lock-up solenoid on the new wiring.
The first picture is my old lock-up solenoid it has a "t" shape at the end and twists into the solenoid. The second picture is my new lock-up solenoid. I have a screen filter in my kit that fits okay in the solenoid. The third picture is where the filter actually fits the best, in the case. I understand that at some point there was a filter in that location. A little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
A little info

There is a TCC screen shown in that area, bottom of Pump.
Part #92, Figure 179, Pg. 100 in ATSG Manual. #014 here >> https://www.wittrans.com/Schematic.a...0E&Schematic=5 |
Okay wow. I see that in the manual now.
So SSedan, thats a vote for putting the filter in the case? |
I can't say yes or no. I do know many screens get left out, it may not be needed but. I'd wait for one of the Builders more familiar with the 60E to chime in, or try doing a search, it may come up. ( TCC Screen )

So I put a call into monster transmissions where I got my kit. Rebuilder there says to just leave it out.
I have been thinking about it and I think it will stay on the bench. No reason to have it in there when my trans is freshly rebuilt and I can be positive that it is totally clean and particle free. Thanks for the help. |
