4l60e shifting issues

i have a 98 chevy k1500 with a 4l60e transmission
i am having some issues with shifting sometimes it a hit and miss issue

my tranny shifts fine for long time until it seems like it gets warm and when i stop it shift hard going into second and third gear... turn truck off for a little bit and start driving problem goes away until it gets warm again... drives fine in 3rd just acts up in OD

whats the mileage and service record on the truck? whats the level and condition of the fluid? and have you had it scanned for codes?
at best from what youre describing, im willing to bet that you have the typical p1870 code as its a very common problem with these transmissions.
anything more than 120k for mileage and that code IF it is in the system,the trans has lived past its normal service life and should be gone through with a fresh rebuild and converter.
if thats not the case, all the info you can provide would be great on helping resolve your transmission troubles.

175k on truck fluid changed every 40k no repairs done to tranny
