4l60e swap

hey everyone im new to the forum and needed some info and this seems like a great place to get some help.
the trans went out in my 1990 c3500(th400). i have a 1993 suburban with 4l60e. i know this trans is electronically controlled but i have the complete suburban is there any way to use the computer from the suburban to make the trans work in the c3500. thanks for any help.

Are both trucks 5.7 engines? If so and if you really want the 4l60e in the 90 you could swap the engine harness and computer, trans harness and trans from the 93 into the 90.

You might have to swap a few of the sensors on the engine as the wiring plugs might be different on one or two of them.

4L60E isn't strong enough for a beast like a C3500. The TH400 tells all, even cost conscious GM couldn't bring themselves to put the 4 speed 700R4 which is simply the mechanically controlled version of the 4L60E into that truck.

The modern heavy duty replacement for the TH400 is the 4L80 anything lighter will have you back under there in no time.
