Why do you want to use the electronically controlled version on a carbed engine?

It is possible, but I personally would use the 200-4R, as it will bolt right up without an adapter.

The adapters are cheesy if you ask me. You only have 2 of the original bolts holding it to the block, and then the other 4 are attached to what amount so thick sheetmetal.

You could use a 700-r4 if you don't mind the adapter.

200-4Rs commonly came in the Buick Grand Nationals, mid sized Olds, Buicks, some Chevy's, and RWD Cadillacs from 1981-1990.

Most of the "G-Body" cars or metric cars as they are called came with them. Buick Regals, Monte Carlos, Cutlass's, etc.

They are fairly common and work good IF they are properly setup. I wouldn't recommend trying to install a wrecking yard or even stock rebuilt unit for performance use behind any V8 but a few mods and a quality rebuild and they work well.

I used one behind the 427 BBC in my '69 Chevelle for a couple of years as a test mule for my build technique.
It was a nice setup.
