complete loss of line pressure. no fluid. pressure solenoid not working properly. check your wiring harness to and from trans. make sure its still seated in its plug properly. check fluid level. forward clutch may have failed. if it isnt fluid or electrical its probably a serious problem. good luck

i suspect a plugged filter. the epc solenoid failing will not cause a complete loss of pressure in the trans. it just wont have proper line rise if it fails. it also wont be in the electronics as they have nothing to do with the trans pumping fluid.

Filter clog

You think a filter clog will cause it to just go blank instantly, i would think it would be a gradual loss. Filter and fluid are less than a year old.

true, it will usually show signs of slipping and usually have a whining sound come from the pump as well. the thought of the pump breaking is a thought or, as mentioned the forward clutches could have gone out all though i dont normally see the forward clutches being bad. its usually the 3-4 clutches that get burnt.
is it a 4x4? you havent mentioned what vehicle the trans is in, maybe its a t-case issue if its a 4x4.
otherwise, id get a 0-300 hydraulic pressure gauge and see if the trans has pressure. the main line tap is on the drivers side of the case by the shift arm.

another possible

have seen a strange mismatch of a converter (dayco) I believe that had been rebuilt, then installed, that thing had less than 1/8 of engagement of pump gear when bolted up customer said cruising on interstate and then nothing, came in found no line pressure, Remove and torn down found just the very front of pump rotor stripped think was riding on slight bevel that is built into converter hub found that there was .400 " difference between converter off shelf and customers when measured from converter lugs to hub height. somebody's quality control failed.
