Don't mean to hijack this thread but my 90 C1500 305 has the 700R4/4L60E trans. I always thought the "E" stood for electronic am I wrong? Why would the 4x4 have the 4L60? Just trying to learn

4l80 And 700r4,same Thing, And E,dose Stand For Electronic. And In 1990,u Dont Know Which One U Got,so If You Have A Throttle Cable Going Down To Trans,next To Cooler Lines,then Its Not Electronic

Thanks again to everyone who has replied. I checked with another dealer today who also ran the VIN and he confirms 4L60 not the "E" the first dealer reported. Their information reads: 700R4/4L60 MD8
