An aftermarket computer or the complete engine/trans, computer and harness from a donor car so you'll have all the engine sensors.
No.

What year of truck is it going in and yes you can get an aftermarket computer to work with the 4l60E trans. I think Jegs carries it but runs around $400 IIRC. '93 trucks was the changeover year to the elctronically shifted 4L60E. Before that it was the 700R4 or the 4L60. I know that when I built up my '93 from a V6 to a V8, the computer and trans was kind of a thorn in the side. The computer also drives the speedo and the odometer. The 4L60E does not have the cable to drive the speedo.

The transmission is a 4L60E if there is a round electrical connector on the passenger side of the case. It is about 1.5 inches in diameter . There is NO cable hook up on a 4L60E trans.

You need a controller for this trans. It controls the shifts and main line pressure. With out a controller the trans operates at max line pressure ful time. This will heat up the transmission and wear out the pump quicker.

CompUshift.com has a very good controller.. costs more money though.

Check with Jegs and Summit racing for controllers or Google for other leads to a controller

Probably cheaper to install a TH350 with a 9" tailstock.

Driveshaft shouldn't need to be cut.

I would be curious if this trail truck is a 4x4 vehicle?
