4L60E , whats this wire for ?

the speed sensor, the harness going to it. there are 2 regular wires, going to the computer. but, there is a ground wire that runs down "close" to the sensor. where it turns in a "bare" hard wire. this turns and goes all the to, but not "into" the computer. all this is wraped in a foil lined liner.

thanx

the signals from the speed sensor can produce "noise" that will cause computer troubles if they are not cancelled out. Usually you will see the speed sensor wires are twisted around each other the full distance from tranny on up the harness.

this helps cancel out any electronic "noise" that would cause computer glitches.

Could explain the wire in question
