Hey all

Just wondering if a 93 Astro RWD tranny would bolt into and work in a 95 Safari chassis. Both have the HO V6 and both are RWD. The dealership said the 95 was a special "one year only" thing, but everywhere you look to buy these transmissions, the years span from 93-95. Both are 4l60e's. Just need the one in while the 95 gets rebuilt. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

93-94 will interchange, 95 up pump and valve body wont fit or should I say wont work correctly with 93 94 computer with out knowing what to use from one to another.

So, would swapping out the 93's computer into the 95 make it work then, or would other stuff screw it up at that point?

makes a better swap from 93 to 95 update never try ed that...
most the time 93 would be better off with 92 700 rather than 93 4l60e. but that year can still be rebuild with some improvement and made to last.....I have installed complete 95 using the wiring from 93 without any side affects

So, you're saying you could swap a 93 tranny and computer into a 95 and it would work? I just need to know so we can start pulling this thing out.

I have not performed that swap with computer only transmission but if you have trouble you can swap the computer back to old 93 and install inside trans wire harness to the 95 trans
