I have a 4L80E transmission bolted behind a 350 ETB out of a '95 Chevy truck with 30K miles. Is there an aftermarket computer for this 4L80E? I'd like to change the tbi with a carb and if I can't get an after market computer, I'll change it to a 700r4. BTW what would this transmission sell for?

Yes, TCI sells a Transmission Control Unit (TCU) fr te 4l60E and the 4L80E. I had the same problem when putting a 350 in my S-10. I opted to buy a built 700r4 tranny because the cost was only about 2/3 that of the TCU, which goes for about $750 in any summit or Jegs catalog, or you can go to the TCI website. Good luck!

Seon,
Just out of curiosity, what do you plan on doing with the TBI? Does it have the stock computer with it? |

If you want a high quality controller visit this site:
http://www.compushift.com/ Not the cheapest, but very programmable, no PC laptop needed. Each shift can be controlled for more/less RPM shift , pressure at shift, etc. Some aftermarket controllers operate the pressure system incorrectly by running near full main line pressure full time. Don't let price be your guide...4L80E's are not cheap to build Tony [ January 28, 2003: Message edited by: Crosley ]
