4th Generation F-Body Pre-LT1 Stroker Motor Swap & Computer Question - HELP !

To All,

I want to swap an earlier, large SBC stroker motor into a 1995 Z/28. The LT1 will be removed in favor of a fuel-injected 454 World Products setup. The Computer will be a stand-alone aftermarket unit for the Fuel-Injection only and the Transmission will be a T56 (GM/VIPER) 6-Speed manual, etc . . .

QUESTION: How much of the "rest of the car" does the Factory Computer run / control ? Can the stock computer setup be totally removed and have all accessories, instruments, etc. function normally ?

The LT1 motor is just too limited, unless you spray it, blow it, or turbo it . . . Also, the largest possible cubice inches is only around 396-400 +/- . . . There are no suitable aftermarket parts for my application for the LT1 either . . .

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ???

The car will NOT have to pass any type of "Sniffer" emissions test, since only 1996 & up OBD-II cars do in NC ( That's why I want to use a 1995 ! ) only thing is a visual "Safety Inspection" . . .
