4x2 to 4x4 conversion

I just bought a 92 sonoma 4x2 because my 98jimmy 4x4 is falling apart. I was told that the 4x4 components would bolt in because th sonoma has a 4x4 blazers rear end. Is this true or would it cost a fortune? I'm confused some say yes and some say no

It wont be bolt in. 2wd and 4wd trucks have a bunch of different parts. Steering, suspension, even the exhaust. Just about everything in the front will have to be converted. Very very time consuming.
Another option would be to put a straight axle under it, which is what i would do. Much less work than ifs.

Not sure of wheelbase of the two, but it might be easier swapping the Sonoma body to the Jimmy frame. You may get lucky, I know on the older fullsize trucks it's the way to go. Hardly any modifications needed.. Hope this helps.
