4x4 700r4 Problems!!

Hello all, I have a 1986 suburban that has been giving me problems the transmission has been acting up the tranny filter keeps on pushing out to the bottom of the pan causing embarrassment to the old girl. Also, since this problem started the shift points have been off by shifting at high revs i have put the filter in correctly i'm sure of it, but it keeps on comming down. In anyones professional opinion what would cause this problem? The truck gets a good tune up about once a year which includes all fluids to be changed. Thanks for any reply i appreciate it.

check to see if the grommet for the old filter is still up in the case and not allowing the new filter to seat all the way in the pump like its supposed to.
as far as the high revs on shifts, that sounds like the tv valve has gotten stuck with debris. a few good snaps of the tv cable could free up the tv valve and get the trans to shift properly again.

yes sir i did check the grommet the filter actually goes in and its hard as hell to to pull down once ive put it in. The old grommet is always the first thing i hunt down. Any idea on if it might be the torque converter or pump???

it wont be the converter and more than likely not the pump as well.
you say that its difficult to remove the filter by hand, yet its falling out. do you have an aftermarket deeper pan on it?
there have been times ive heard or seen the filter snout be off where it will drop down into the pan.

its still a factory pan and im still baffled by this problem ive bought a new tranny but im hesitant to put it in is there any thing in the trannny that would cause enough pressure under a stressfull load to reverse the flow of the pump or maybe the elecrtonics inside to push it down the only thing i can think of is some afro engineering on the filter like finding a longer bolt for the valve body and drilling it through the filter with some washers to keep it up. Ive just noticed something new also the engine oil pressure has been really fluctuating between 40 and 50 on start up and as low as 15 when warmed up and its right at 30 when the filter drops im not sure if im reaching on this new symptom but it is an observation

if you have the correct pan and filter, the filter does not simply fall out of the pump
