Question 5.0 Ignition Timing

Does anybody know the correct timing curve for a stock 5.0 liter ford with minor mods? I have a 5.0 with a carb so I dont have the EFI distributor that advances automaticly. I have an MSD unit with srings/bushings. I need to know everything (initial, total etc.) Thanks

What's up mustang66, without knowing your exact application I do know most late model 5.0 engines with the spout connector disconnected(sets PCM to base timing)is 10 deg.BTC. My '73 302(5.0) factory spec was 6-8 deg.BTC, with some upgrades and no emissions garbage I keep my base at about 11 deg.BTC. That's with a Mallory dual point with total advance curve of about 24 deg. over my base setting. This seams to work pretty good for me. Depending on how your car is set up you may want to modify a little but this might be a good start.
