lol, nothing about that kind of power is cheap. you have a solid long block that can hangle over 700hp in pretty much stock form- BUT fueling, plumbing, trans, and rear end is going to set you back probably close to 20 grand.

You'd be surprised what a bone stock 4.8 or 5.3 can handle if tuned correctly. Look for the L33 series all aluminum 5.3. They can routinely handle over 900hp in factory form. A local at our track holds the fastest stock block record of 8.6x in the quarter. Also drives a 5000+ lb ford LTD with the same power plant and runs 9's at 141 mph. These both use untouched factory port heads and bottom ends. Cam, springs, head studs, and MLS head gaskets are the only eng mods.

Over on the turbo forums there are many guys in the 600-700 wheel horsepower range on almost bone stock standard 5.3s and 4.8s. Even reusing all factory HG and hardware. 100% factory untouched bottom ends. You spends all your money on the fuel system and management.

Check this out if you get a chance.... it's as budget as you can get and the hotside looks like it was welded by and infant. Works great! Awesome build.
