5 window coupe fan
I built a 5 window coupe from scratch that origionally had a Suzuki 550 mtr. It now has a chev chevette engine. The body was made from wood and fiber glass. My current project is a Studebaker 5 window coupe sitting on a 34 coupe frame. engine power at this time is planned on being a 365 hp ford 460 out of a 69 lincoln.(trying for that hotrod lincoln although its not a model A)

5 widow coupe fan
No not a 34, the coupe body is a very poor shape studebaker, found it in a field ,sold to me as a 32 but upon investigating found 32's had suicide doors...mine doesnt...so i am guessing around a 31 or older....roof chopped , filled,no floors...doors from a diff model so some changes are in order...sitting on a origional 34 ford coupe frame, boxed up and a 70 lincoln rear in it. 4" dropped axle being mounted now. with hair pin radius rods. planning on putting in a 69 lincoln 460..keeping it stock just dressing it up... steering planned is a doge omni manual rack which just bolts in...maybe with the engine weight, may go to a ford escort power rack...they are small but havent tried to see how it would fit as of yet.

From what I have seen the Studebaker coupes came with both suicide doors and A pillar mounted doors. Have you seen this site? The years aren't always correct but it will give you another look at what your car may be. Can you post some pics of the body? How are you going to mount that rack and pinion to work with that dropped axle?

rack to axle
I am thinking that I will draw a line from one of the steering arm ends to the other. mount the center of the rack /pinion steering assembly on this line. I have a manual doge omni rack but heard that a ford escort power unit is also small and could work well also. If i end up using the 69 lincoln 460 then i may go to the escort as there may be a weight issue.\ and may need the added power to turn it all. ill submit pics at some point...and no havent seen any stude sites...list them? also how do you start a gallery?

Great to see the progress and upgrades of that handbuilt body/chassis over the years. And your skills appear to get better and better with each new "phase". That last buck looks very nice. Impressive work.
