My father-in-law and are installing 2 of their MSII IFS kits on some Advance Design Chevy trucks (47-53 mutts). I'd imagine the car kits are little different from what we got and I can answer some of your questions.
It isn't a bolt in- there is some welding and it's important load-bearing stuff. If you don't weld I would not start with this find a local shop who can weld them in place if you get them tacked down.
It doesn't come with a steering column, so add that to the cost of the kit, but someone else might suggest a good transplant for you.
It's not a bad kit- the instructions are OK if you take your time and read through them a few times. Mock things up as you sort of read along and you can see what they are telling you. We got the mid level kits with the chrome A arms which are nice and for the slight extra outlay of cash worth considering. I don't think I could justify the top of the line kit but...
I can't vouch for its ruggedness we just put them on the frames this summer and the power-trains and bodies are a long way from rolling down the road- but the front suspension does look a lot better than the solid beam axle that was there before. Oh and it does drop your front a bit, at least on the truck it did, about 2 inches or so without the dropped spindle.
