50 Chevy panel chop question...

Hey guys its been awhile but now I find myself in need of professional advice or should I say direction. I just aquired a 50 Chevy panel. I have also found a good Burb roof of the same vintage. Id like to hammer this thing and Id like to go pretty savere. Thinking around 6 inches or so. I know it sounds kinda of stupid but I think Im going to need to go pretty low to get the proportions back after I put the COE front end on it. The wheel base gets shortened way up for the front end and Im thinking this will help the look. It will be getting an S-10 frame and bags down the road.

So the question is has anyone here hammered a Panel? Ive chopped a lot of cars and trucks but the panel is a bit different. There is a video on line on how to chop one bit Im kind of wondering if there might be a better way to tackle it. Any input on procedure would be appreciated. And as always thanks in advance.

panel chop.

One of the guys in a street rod fab class I took a few years ago at UVU chopped an old international, He only took out 4 inches. He didn't like my comment that It then looked like a stock gm panel. he kept the same windshield size, cut out the W/s picture frame and slid it back and tilted it, Lots of v slits to get it to spread, He didn't split the top and add a piece like a lot of chops get. a radical chop takes a lot more work to get the lines right.

I know you have done other chops also, I'm thinkin ..... if you do the 'paper' chop first, maybe even apicture from the front and the rear ........ would really be helpful here, sounds like a project I'd like to see !
