50 Chevy question
I've got a 50 Chev convertible in the shop that needs some major panel alignment/adjustments. I started tuning in the decklid fit and noticed the weatherstrip around the trunk opening is in two pieces. The front 1/3 of weatherstrip is glued to the body and the rest is glued to the decklid. Is this correct in that these cars came from the factory this way? It looks like someone replaced it at one time with a softseal aftermarket type weatherstrip and was just curious if they have installed it right-since this trunklid fits like crap. The last guy that worked on the car slid the decklid so far rearward that it overhung the rear body panel by 3/8" and I think he did it just to get the thing to close with the new weatherstrip. Bob
