50 ply

Hello, I am new to the flathead world and I have to say it can be a little tough at times. I am working on my 50 ply' spec' deluxe. I have been able to locate most parts, but I am having a hard time finding performance parts, like intakes, headers, and carb's. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! I am in North Carolina

ply-do parts

My son has a 36 plymouth and on the bulletin board in the shop has Ply-do parts listed I have no idea of what they carry. Back in the 50's we made our own. You could buy a carb adaptor, cut holes in your manifold and weld it on, I Split my Chevy exhaust, made the adaptor and welded it on. You have to heat the manifold to a dull red heat in the BBQ. weld it, then a Slooow cool down. I added Carb mounts to My corvair dunebuggy, I mounted the combo head-manifold in the Milling machine, step bored the holes, then made tubes with a top plate with a carb hole and 4 5/16 holes, 2 match the carb . I used epoxy and pressed them in and drilled and tapped 2 holes in the manifold for studs to hold the adaptor down, My brother bought a U fab log manifold kit for 6 carbs for his Hemi, some one is making then again. weld them your self do a search for Ply-do and you will find lots of info about rodding one.
