50ft for 50 bucks

used to do this one back in the 70s . 50 ft for 50 bucks, I was a decent sprinter and came up with a plan .
Find a guy with a heavy car and a 4 speed , Then goat him into a race with me on foot and him in his car . very few relize how short 50ft is , never measured it before the money was on . Then when he saw how short 50 ft was he would endup just burning the tires trying to hard to get a launch . I won alot of money , it took a pretty carfull pick of the opponets
My first loss was when i broke my own rule of only racing against 4 speeds and i tried it with a Roadrunner , auto with a 383 he he beat me by inches

That one's got me scratching me head. I think I'm going to go out in the driveway and race my wife in her RAV4 just to see if it's even close. I would think she would wop my butt every time. But then maybe it's one of those "optical illusions" of the brain. We think the car is so much quicker and more powerful but it has a lot of inertia to overcome.

Oh, and if I call in dead tomorrow...it's the heart attach I had at the 35 foot line.

50 ft is a lot long distance once you reach age 50....................

This was usually done with a car and horse......not sure of the distance.

I can only run 50 feet if I'm being chased.

I've also heard of this one, a friend of mine pulled it off in my school days, he got the idea from his dad. Didn't hurt any that he was very quick but even then it was no contest. He beat the car by a good 15 feet.
